Tripwaley (“Tripwaley”, “we”, “us”), a sole proprietorship registered as a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME), operates fixed-date group departures across India, sold through www.tripwaley.com (the “Platform”), from its principal place of business at A-Block, Park Back Side Portion, 27/3, near State Bank of India, Shivaji Vihar, Rajouri Garden, Tagore Garden Extension, Delhi, 110027. “You” means the person making the booking and every traveller named on it.
Accessing, browsing or otherwise using the Platform indicates your agreement to these terms, so please read them carefully before proceeding. Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking. Travellers under 18 may join only when accompanied by a parent or guardian on the same departure, or with written consent shared with us in advance.
What a booking includes
Every trip page lists exactly what is included and excluded for that departure. As a rule, the seat price covers stays, the meals named on the itinerary, transport from your boarding city, permits where applicable, and a trip captain.
Anything not listed as included is excluded — typically airfare to the boarding city, personal expenses, optional activities, travel insurance, and costs arising from events outside our control.
Holding a seat, confirming it, and paying the balance
Payment happens in three stages. Only the first is collected on this website.
- Stage 1 — a hold, paid online. You pay 5% of the total trip cost, plus 5% GST on that amount, through our payment gateway. This holds your seat. The amount is adjusted against your advance — it counts towards the trip, not on top of it. A hold on its own does not confirm a booking.
- Stage 2 — the advance, which confirms. Your booking is confirmed only when your total advance reaches 20% of the total trip cost and we issue a written confirmation by email or WhatsApp. Our team collects the difference — the remaining 15% of the trip cost — usually about a week before departure.
- Stage 3 — the balance, at departure. The remaining 80% is payable at departure, or by the date stated on your confirmation. Unpaid balances may result in the seat being released under clause 6.
All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR). The GST shown on your hold payment is charged in addition to the trip price, and the exact amount is displayed to you before you pay. Prices quoted on the site may change until a booking is confirmed; once confirmed, your price is locked.
Payments
Payments are collected through a licensed third-party payment gateway. We never see or store your full card, UPI or bank credentials. The amount payable is always calculated by us from the published trip price — never from anything entered in your browser.
If a payment fails, is reversed, or is disputed with your bank, the booking is not confirmed and the seat returns to inventory.
Your hold payment is refundable. If you cancel, the 5% you paid online is refunded on the same basis as any other money paid towards the trip, under the slab in our Cancellation & Refund Policy. GST already remitted to the government is refunded only to the extent we are able to recover it.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancellations by you, refund slabs, and how long a refund takes are set out in full in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes and cancellation by us
Group travel in the Himalayas and other remote regions is weather-dependent. We may adjust an itinerary, stay, or route where safety, road conditions, permits or local restrictions require it. We will always tell you as soon as we know.
If we cancel a departure outright, you may choose a full refund of everything paid, or a transfer of the full amount to another departure. We are not liable for costs you incurred separately, such as flights booked to reach the boarding city — travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Your responsibilities on a trip
- Carry valid government photo ID, and any permit documents we ask for, for the whole trip.
- Disclose medical conditions, allergies or fitness limits that could affect you at altitude or on a trek, before you travel.
- Follow the trip captain's instructions on safety, timings and restricted areas.
- Respect local communities, property and the environment at every stop.
We may remove a traveller from a departure, without refund, for conduct that endangers themselves or others, for possession of illegal substances, or for behaviour that persistently disrupts the group.
Health, fitness and risk
Several of our departures involve high altitude, long road journeys and trekking. These carry inherent risk that cannot be removed. You confirm that each traveller is medically fit for the itinerary booked, and you accept those inherent risks.
We are not medical providers. Where evacuation or treatment is needed, we will assist in arranging it, but the cost is yours.
Liability
We take responsibility for the services we directly provide, and we select our stays, drivers and captains with care. We are not liable for loss, delay or injury caused by events beyond our reasonable control — including weather, landslides, roadblocks, strikes, accidents, acts of government, or the failure of an independent third-party supplier.
Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
Photography and media
Our captains photograph batches during trips, and we may use those images to promote future departures. If you would rather not appear, tell your trip captain or write to us and we will exclude you.
