The big one, and the trip most of our solo travellers pick as their first. A cold desert at 4,000m, monasteries older than most countries, the highest post office in the world, and a night beside Chandratal where the Milky Way is genuinely bright enough to read by.
Batch size is capped at 16. You'll be matched into a twin-share room with someone your own age and gender — no single supplement, ever.

People who booked one seat and want the group to feel like a friend group by day three. It is high altitude, so there's a deliberate acclimatisation night built in.

Up the Sutlej valley to the last inhabited village before the Tibet border. Cold, green, and very quiet. First night at altitude.

Kinnaur Kailash from Kalpa at sunrise if the clouds allow, then the landscape turns from pine to bare rock in the space of two hours. Night at Nako.

Tabo monastery — 1,000 years of continuous use — then Dhankar hanging above the confluence. Into Kaza by evening; this is your acclimatisation base.

Day 05Key, Kibber, Hikkim, Langza

The postcard day. Key monastery stacked up its hillside, the fossil village at Langza, and a postcard posted from Hikkim at 4,400m — it genuinely arrives.

Over Kunzum La to the moon lake. No network, no buildings, a camp beside the water. Sleep late — the sky is the reason you came.
